Description of wood: Heartwood pale brown, abundantly striped with irregularly spaced bands of much darker brown and of widely varied width. Texture reminiscent of Brazilian rosewood because of the occasional large pores in an otherwise very smooth surface. Grain variable.

Workability: Easy to work to a smooth lustrous surface. Peels well on the radial surface.

Use: Decorative veneer, turnery.
